Within four years of operations only, excellent results have been achieved so that our Bank has been maintaining its leading position in the field of payment card operations for a longer period of time.
Banca Intesa Beograd issued up to now over 800 000 payment cards, out of which 670 000 belong to the MasterCard portfolio. The popularity of the MasterCard cards achieved thanks to the activities of our Bank is also corroborated with the fact that more than 90% of the MasterCard turnover in the country is carried out just through Banca Intesa Beograd, and the most developed and broad universal network of 10.000 POS terminals that accept all cards as well as 150 ATMs contribute to this.

Banca Intesa Beograd has been the first bank in the country that introduced the most sophisticated chip technology of MasterCard payment cards and so enabled faster transactions, a much better safety as counterfeiting of the card is completely disabled, as well as simpler payments. This card has a chip - microcomputer in itself that may be programmed to perform various functions.
The introduction of the chip technology contributes to the improvement of payment technologies in Serbia and is a very efficient instrument in the fight against misuses. With the issuance of chip cards, Banca Intesa Beograd shall introduce the first-class technology into Serbia. The main function of the MasterCard chip card is the payment function which has been enlarged with safety and protection functions on this platform, disabling the malpractice of the card which means that it is impossible to copy or use the information contained in the chip unauthorized. The chip may contain multiple applications in itself such as safe electronic trade, loyalty points, discount vauchers, cards, insurance policies, safe access and data identification. The advantage of the chip technology is also in the fact that it allows to perform transactions without any need to contact the issuing bank for authorization.
The chip technology shall be the main technological platform for safe payments on the internet in the future.
The application process for MasterCard cards has been simplified; you do not need any guarantors, deposit or administrative ban and regarding documents you only need your identity card. These cards enable their users a flexible payment in installments up to 40 days without interest through the revolving loan model, whereby the min. monthly payment shall be 5 % of the total indebtedness from the previous month. The MC2 MasterCard credit card may be used in the country and abroad as an additional card on any MasterCard credit card.
