Banca Intesa wins Planeta Biznis award for largest CSR contribution

Banca Intesa has won the Planeta Biznis award, traditionally handed out by magazines Ekonometar and Magazin Biznis, recognizing it as the bank that allocated the largest amount of funds for corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes in 2011.

According to the magazines, reports submitted by banks operating in Serbia show that Banca Intesa is the leading bank in the domestic market by the total amount of funds set aside for donations and other CSR activities last year. In 2011, the bank donated 111.6 million dinars for numerous support projects for non-profit and humanitarian organizations, health, educational and social welfare institutions, as well as cultural and sport manifestations.

Also, Banca Intesa launched The Place I Love project last year to preserve Serbia’s cultural and historical heritage, appropriating 30 million dinars to reconstruct the former National Library at Kosancivev Venac in Belgrade, the Belgrade Gate in Petrovaradin and Town Walls in Novi Pazar.

Marco Capellini, the Deputy Chairman of Banca Intesa Executive Board, accepted the recognition on behalf of Draginja Djuric, President of Banca Intesa Executive Board.
