Representatives of the company Asistel and the Assembly of the City of Belgrade signed, in the Assembly of the City premises, the protocol on cooperation on the occasion of starting the campaign ‘’Tele-assistance for citizens of Belgrade’’ aimed to enable day and night support to elderly citizens who spend most of their time on their own. Banca Intesa, together with the companies Coca-Cola Hellenic and Telenor, recognized the importance of this campaign, and therefore, through its donation it offered the help to the ones most needing it, proving even this time its continual commitment to the socially responsible business activities contributing to the community improvement and development.

Namely, it has been estimated that there are 18.000 people of third age in Belgrade needing some kind of help. Tele-assistance service implies organization of help via telephone, as well as offering security to users 24 hours a day. This program is dedicated to improvement of physical, emotional and psychological welfare of elderly people who spend most of their time on their own. Through tele-assistance, Asistel organizes the help for its users via phone line, by activating the button taken with oneself, and depending upon the nature of the call, urgent interventions in situations of crisis will be organized, calming users down, conversation due to the loneliness, providing different information etc.

‘’Pursuant to the development strategy of the city of Belgrade, social development will be based on the community movement towards higher level of welfare – increase of healthcare and other welfare for the greatest number of citizens, and, particularly, for delicate and vulnerable social groups, life quality improvement and availability of services stated to be of the public interest. One of the basic long-term aims of the social development protection is also to help for elderly people who are not able to take care of themselves.’’ – stated the acting mayor, Mr. Zoran Alimpić.

‘’Owing to the donators: Banca Intesa Coca-Cola Hellenic Serbia and Telenor, first 150 of the most destitute citizens have been enabled to use tele-assistance services. Each company donated 50 citizens for each of the two municipalities.’’- added Alimpić.
