Favourable loans for agricultural sector

Banca Intesa has started approving loans with subsidized interest rates for investments in agricultural production as part of this year’s program of subsidized lending for the agricultural sector implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection.

The offer includes short-term and long-term RSD-indexed loans for investing in livestock breeding, farming, fruit and vegetable growing, intended for holders of registered agricultural households, agricultural cooperatives and legal persons registered as farms, regardless of whether they are clients of Banca Intesa or not.

Subsidized loans are approved with a fixed interest rate of 3% annually and can be used for investments in working capital and fixed assets, i.e. for the purchase of raw materials, livestock fund, agricultural machines and equipment, as well as purchase of livestock feed. The bank approved the loans in the maximum amount of RSD 5 million for holders of registered farms, or up to RSD 15 million for cooperatives, with a repayment period of three years and the possibility of using a grace period of up to one year.

In 2015, Banca Intesa approved over 6,600 loans to registered farms in the total amount of over EUR 25.5 million. The increase in the number and amount of loans continued in the first four months of 2016, when the bank approved about 2,900 loans worth a total of EUR 11.7 million, posting an increase of 20% in number and more than 37% in the amount of approved loans compared to the same period in the previous year.
