Over the past two years, the Intesa Foundation has directed €2 million to support the community

Intesa Foundation philanthropic organization, established by Banca Intesa with the support of its parent Intesa Sanpaolo Group, in its first two years of operations, directed nearly two million euros to socially and environmentally responsible initiatives across the country.

To date, the Foundation has supported 23 projects in five key areas of impact - healthcare and social protection, focused primarily on elderly population; development of education, children, and youth; support for women in distress and combat against social inequalities; climate change mitigation and environmental protection; and local community projects.

More than half of the total donations have been directed towards creating better working conditions and treatment of patients in six hospitals in Serbia, as well as supporting families of children suffering from the most severe illnesses, while the funds in the amount of EUR 440,000 supported the inclusion of almost 400 children from Roma and other marginalized communities. For the empowerment of women from vulnerable groups, €330,000 has been set aside, while more than €110,000 has been invested in initiatives to combat climate change, reduce food waste, expand recycling opportunities, and preserve biodiversity.

"Fully aware of the responsibility that comes with a leadership position and guided by the belief that success gains true meaning only when shared, Banca Intesa has supported numerous local cultural, social, and environmental projects for more than two decades. I am proud that with the establishment of Intesa Foundation in 2024, we transformed our long-standing commitment to community welfare into a strategic, clearly defined, and sustainable framework, with the intention to consistently, systematically, and long-term promote philanthropic values and contribute to the development of society," said Darko Popović, Deputy President of the Board of Directors of the Intesa Foundation philanthropic organization and President of the Executive Board of Banca Intesa.
