Intesa Sanpaolo is the winner of the "Bank of the Year in Western Europe" and "Bank of the Year in Italy" awards given by The Banker, a specialized edition of the Financial Times Group.

This is the first time that an Italian bank has received recognition as the best bank in Western Europe.

During the selection, the jury of The Banker magazine, which consisted of international judges, took into account the strong financial result of Intesa Sanpaolo, as well as the successful merger with UBI Bank, which created an Italian champion in banking, ready to compete successfully at the European level.

The jury also attached special importance to the vital role that Intesa Sanpaolo played in providing support to the Italian economy and society during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Banker magazine also states that Intesa Sanpaolo is taking the place of a leader in the development of the green economy in Italy.

Intesa Sanpaolo received awards in Serbia and Croatia, where Banca Intesa Belgrade received the "Bank of the Year in Serbia" award, and PBZ received the "Bank of the Year in Croatia" award.
