Banca Intesa named best bank in Serbia again

Banca Intesa starts approving loans under EIF guarantee facility for SME resilience

Banca Intesa, part of international banking group Intesa Sanpaolo, has started approving loans to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and registered farming households under an agreement with the European Investment Fund (EIF) on the Western Balkans Enterprise Development and Innovation Guarantee Facility (WB EDIF) Guarantee4 SME Resilience.

As the first bank in the Serbian market to join the guarantee facility, Banca Intesa will offer EUR 77 million in loans with relaxed collaterals and a longer repayment period to the economy over the next three years, while the EIF guarantee will cover 70% of each loan. The loans have a maximum amount of 500,000 euros and are intended for capital investments, working capital and refinancing.

The European Commission has launched the WB EDIF Guarantee4 SME Resilience building on the successful results of WB EDIF GF and WB EDIF GF II in order to support the resilience of SMEs in the Western Balkans following the COVID 19 crisis and the current energy crisis by facilitating their access to finance.
