Banca Intesa wins Sustainability Team of the Year award

Banca Intesa, member of the international Intesa Sanpaolo group, has been awarded the Sustainability Team of the Year award within the traditional excellence in business awards for the financial sector organised by the Italian financial magazine Financecommunity.

For this special award, Banca Intesa was nominated thanks to its support of over 2.5 million euros directed towards three ESG projects in Serbia. These projects include the construction of two solar power plants financed in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as well as biogas power plants in partnership with the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

"I am very proud of the award given to us by Financecommunity, acknowledging the significance of implementing ESG principles deeply embedded in our business plans as part of the international Intesa Sanpaolo group. With the funds allocated by the Group for these purposes, as well as those secured with the support of international financial institutions, and coupled with the loan offerings at more favourable terms provided to clients meeting sustainable criteria, we have supported over 100 projects in the green and circular economy domain with over 100 million euros. This award is a significant confirmation that our efforts to increase the level of green investments are bringing us closer to achieving goals focused on climate transition, namely achieving net-zero emissions across the Group by 2050," stated Predrag Milenović, Head of Corporate Division at Banca Intesa.
