History
Our story begins in 1991, when we were founded as one of the first private banks in Serbia. Although at first we primarily focused on corporate clients, we quickly became a universal financial institution. Ever since 2005 we are part of the large international group Banca Intesa, now called Intesa Sanpaolo.
After changing our organizational structure and adapting to the business model of our parent group Intesa Sanpaolo, we restructured our business towards retail and small and medium enterprises banking. Thanks to an exclusive agreement with American Express in 2006, we brought this prestigious global credit card brand back on the Serbian market after twenty years of absence.
That same year, in order to round out the range of our financial services, we established a leasing company – Intesa Leasing. Soon after, we became the leading bank on the Serbian market according to all banking success parameters.
A year later we acquired the Panonska banka bank and thus further secured our leadership position and increased the size of our workforce to 3,000 people, while the city of Novi Sad became our second company headquarters.
In late 2010 our parent company founded the local office of Intesa Sanpaolo Card (ISPC), a specialized centre dedicated to the development and support of credit card business.
In 2016 we combined all business functions in the new HQ building in Belgrade, at Milentija Popovića 7b.
