Banca Intesa completes another minibond issue
Banca Intesa, a member of international banking group Intesa Sanpaolo, has successfully completed the second issue of minibonds without collateral in the Serbian market, confirming its commitment to expanding the availability of innovative instruments for financing the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The issue of minibonds of Zlatiborac, a leading cured meat specialties producer, in the amount of 820 million dinars, was realized without collateral, based on the analysis of its financial indicators and business model. Banca Intesa acted as an arranger and sponsor of the issue, which it will also buy in its entirety, thus enabling Zlatiborac to provide the necessary funds to finance business development and expansion of production capacities. The bonds have a maturity of seven years, including a grace period of two years.
This is the second issue of minibonds without collateral realized by Banca Intesa, only a month after it acted as the arranger and sponsor of the first such transaction in Serbia. The issue of minibonds in the amount of 470 million dinars, under the auspices of the bank, was carried out in July by Diopta, the leading chain of optical shops in the region, with the aim of raising funds for the expansion of its retail network.
Minibonds are a modern financial instrument designed to meet the needs of SMEs - key drivers of economic development and innovation - by providing them with the funds needed for strategic growth, such as investments in production capacities, new product lines, international expansion or acquisition activities.
